ATHENS FLAIR
Location: Kolonaki
Athens Flair is located in the leafy, upmarket suburb of Kolonaki, right at the base of Mount Lycabettus and around the corner from the famous bookstore Politeia.
It is a 10-minute walk to Syntagma Square and 20 to The Acropolis. Panepistimio Metro Station is just 2 blocks.
Opened in July 2022 the Hotel is a heritage-protected former mansion that was once home to one of Greece’s most renowned actresses, Ellie Lambeti.
There are just 6 suites and a roof garden with sweeping views of the city, and one suite has 2 bedrooms.
AUNTIE’S HOME
Location: PLAKA
Auntie’s home is exactly that -like staying at your favorite Aunties house on a city break. And luckily she lives right in Plaka, one of the safest, cleanest, and most centrally located neighbourhoods in Athens and also the most popular with visitors.
The property has 2 apartments, one on each floor of the building, and each one is 60sqm, has 2 Queen bedrooms, and amazing Acropolis views. They can sleep 4 comfortably with rooms for an extra guest upon request. One apartment has open bedrooms so great for a family with children while the other has separate bedrooms.
Both have an outdoor private terrace as well as a full kitchen and washing machine.
THE GEM SOCIETY
Location: Psyri
The Gem Society Hotel is a fairly new full-service hotel in Athens’s historical center and has already picked up a number of accolades.
This converted neo-classical building now houses 32 suites including 2 bedroom suites that can sleep 6 people comfortably. Many have balconies and deep bath tubs which are great for kids ( and weary parents).
The hotel also has an excellent Bistro and even a Day Spa. They also provide childcare services and cater to many special requests.
STILL ATHENS
Location: Psyri
Located in the vibrant inner suburb of Pysri Still Athens is in a quiet street just a short walk to everything.
They offer a variety of rooms including Delux Quad rooms, which are great for families with small children, and 2-bedroom Superior King Suites which can sleep 5.
A generous breakfast is included and the tariffs are very reasonable.
MET34 ATHENS
Location: Syntagma
Located right between Ermou shopping street and Mitropoleos Dining Street this boutique hotel is right in the middle of absolutely everything. It is surrounded by some of the best cafes and tavernas in Athens, the best shopping in the country and there’s even a mini-mart across the road.
The modern rooms range from spacious studio apartments for two to deluxe 2-bedroom apartments that can sleep up to 6 people.
All rooms come with small kitchens with a coffee machine and dishwasher and some have ensuite bathrooms, outdoor terraces, and city views.
DOWNTOWN ATHENS LOFTS
Location: Psyri
Also in Psyri and with incredible Acropolis views this hotel is clean, modern, and at a great price point.
Each funky apartment has a fully equipped kitchenette with a coffee maker and there is a rooftop terrace with panoramic views. Furnishings and fitout is retro and lots of fun.
There are a range of loft apartments that can all sleep at least 5 people and Loft Gaia and Greco both have 2 bedrooms and can sleep 7.
Breakfast is not included but there are cafes and bakeries right outside.
MYTHOS LUXURY SUITES
Location: Ermou (Monastiraki)
Again, not a hotel but a professionally run serviced apartment block located right on the corner of Ermou Street, Athens’s main pedestrian shopping mall. This block of luxury suites is just a 2-minute walk from Monastiraki Square and the Metro Station.
All apartments sleep a minimum of 3 people and several have 2 bedrooms and can sleep 5 or 6.
Each one has a small kitchen with an espresso machine and sandwich press and daily maid serving can be arranged upon request. There is a laundry service and supermarket on the next block and numerous tavernas, cafes, and bakeries right outside the door.
ATHENS IKON
Location: Plaka/Monastiraki
Located right on Mitropoleos Street, Athens premier dining street and parallel with Ermou, the main shopping pedestrian mall, Athens Ikon is the heart of the ancient centre.
Consisting of just 5 spacious 2 bedroom suites that all have 2 bathrooms , an open living area with small kitchen and one cozy Junior suite that sleeps 3. Each 2 bedrooms suite also has a sofa-bed so they can sleep up to 6 people.
The hotel has a small, intimate bar which is also the venue for breakfast or you can have it delivered to your room.
A.P. ACROPOLIS VIEW APARTMENTS
Location: PSYRI
These apartments are located in Psyri right around the corner from Agion Anargiron, the main pedestrian street for the neighbourhood.
The property is a short stroll the the Central Markets and just one block from the amazing Benaki Museum. The IVI Theatre is just a few doors away and all the sites and attractions of the ancient centre are within walking distance.
The 15 rooms range from Doubles and Triples to a Quad Room, 2- bedroom apartments that can sleep 6 and a Suite that sleeps 4 and has its own Hammam. Several rooms have an indoor Jacuzzi and most have coffee machines and min-bars.
The property has a small gym and indoor pool and sauna as well as a bar, a breakfast room and a lift.
NS PLACE
Location: MONASTIRAKI
Another great property on Mitropoleos dining street these 12 luxury suites range from three 1- bedroom suites for 2, seven 2-bedrooms suites and two huge 3-bedroom suites with outdoor terraces and breathtaking Acropolis views. Our Editor has stayed in one of these with her family, and the apartment also had a massive indoor gym and fitness studio.
There is even a 4-bedroom villa on Aegina Island!
The building is very close to the Monastiraki Metro Station, Square and market and an easy walk to all the sites and attractions of the ancient centre.
Management is happy to offer a range of Concierge services, including private charters on their fleet of yachts.
COHORT
Location: Koukaki
Cohort is a boutique aparthotel and a stylish renovation of a 1930s house right in the heart of the Ancient Centre.
Located just 300 meters from the Acropolis Museum and the Main entry to The Acropolis the area is full of great tavernas, cafes and galleries as well
Offering studio rooms and suites as well as a bunk room that sleeps 4, and a balcony apartment with a full kitchen including an oven and coffee machine.
The decor is stylish industrial with concrete benches and muted pastels blending seamlessly together. This hotel is very well priced and great value for families in particular who could book a studio and the bunk room for extra space and comfort.
KIN ATHENS
Location: Exarchia

Location: Pireaus
The Port Square Hotels is centrally located at the heart of Piraeus, Athens largest ferry port ( and the biggest Port in Europe) right across the road from the port and only 20 meters from the train and metro station.
This is a game changer for Piraeus which to date has only had a few basic hotels on offer for travellers.
Accommodation ranges from small double rooms through to Family rooms that sleep 4. All have views of the city or port and are beautifully furnished with timber floors and joinery and natural stone.
Port Square has an all-day restaurant and bar – also a great addition to the Port area, and a business centre including a board room for business travellers.
Villa and Apartment Rentals in Athens, Greece
Prefer a free standing self-contained house or Airbnb?
We understand that sometimes if you have a long stay and/or a large group then it may make sense to rent a large apartment, villa or house in Athens. There will be some differences and even some disadvantages but some people may still prefer it.
In Syntagma, in an area called the ‘commercial triangle’ this great apartment that sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a fully equipped laundry in the building too. This is one of our favorite areas to stay in Athens. It is only 700 meters to Syntagma Square and right in the heart of some of the best coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and hotels in the city. You can walk to all major sites and attractions from here.
In Plaka, this huge Pantheon Luxury Flat has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 7 people in true comfort with a big outdoor terrace and stylish designer furnishings. Or check out this gorgeous neo-classical house, right at the foot of the Acropolis and capable of sleeping up to 9 people in 4 bedrooms. It also has a lovely garden and 3 bathrooms!
Next to Plaka, this terrific apartment sleeps 7 people in 5 beds across 4 bedrooms and it’s just a short stroll to the entrance to the Acropolis. This is a neighborhood called Koukaki that is often affectionately called ‘Little Paris’ for its many small shops and cafes.
If you are hoping to stay in the lively neighborhood of Pysri then this big open-plan deluxe loft sleeps 8 people and it has 2 bathrooms and a hot tub and incredible Acropolis views. Perfect with families with lots of kids or teens who need a lot of space but not separate bedrooms.
Another great option nearby is this big 3-bedroom mid-century townhouse which has a great roof terrace. Bright, roomy, and beautifully presented.
