From the bustling streets of one of the world’s oldest capitals to monasteries balanced atop soaring rock pillars, and from emerald Aegean islands to the famous locations of Mamma Mia!, this unforgettable eight-day journey showcases a side of Greece that few travellers experience in a single trip.

Combining ancient history, spectacular landscapes, authentic culture and relaxed island life, this carefully curated itinerary is designed for travellers who want to go beyond the postcard highlights and experience the true heart of Greece.

Whether you’ve dreamed of standing beneath the Acropolis, gazing across the monasteries of Meteora, swimming in impossibly blue waters or retracing the footsteps of Donna and Sophie through the magical landscapes of Mamma Mia!, this journey brings together some of Greece’s most iconic experiences into one unforgettable adventure.

It’s a tour filled with spectacular scenery, rich history, wonderful food, genuine hospitality and countless moments that will stay with you long after you’ve returned home.

Athens

Athens is where your journey begins, a city where ancient history and vibrant modern life sit side by side.

Your adventure begins in Athens, a city where more than 3,000 years of history are woven into everyday life. Wander through the atmospheric streets of Plaka and Anafiotika, where whitewashed houses and flowering bougainvillea create the feeling of a tiny island village beneath the mighty Acropolis.

Explore world-famous archaeological sites, browse vibrant local markets, discover contemporary Greek designers and artisans, and enjoy the city’s renowned café culture and culinary scene. Athens is a city of fascinating contrasts, where ancient temples stand alongside modern galleries, rooftop cocktail bars overlook Byzantine churches, and every neighbourhood tells a different chapter of Greece’s remarkable story.

Athens is compact and walkable, with clear meeting points and easy transport, making it ideal for women travelling together. Between guided activities and free time, there’s the flexibility to explore in smaller groups or take a quiet moment alone, knowing the group is always nearby.

As the first stop of the tour, Athens sets the tone — a blend of history, culture, shopping, and shared experiences that create the perfect foundation for the days ahead in Meteora, Skiathos and Skopelos.

Meteora

Leaving the capital behind, the landscape transforms as you journey into mainland Greece towards one of Europe’s most extraordinary natural wonders.

Meteora is unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Towering sandstone pillars rise hundreds of metres above the surrounding plains, crowned by centuries-old monasteries that appear to defy gravity.

Built by monks seeking isolation and spiritual devotion from the 14th century onwards, these remarkable monasteries have become one of Greece’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Walking amongst these incredible structures offers not only breathtaking views but also a fascinating insight into Byzantine art, Orthodox traditions and the incredible determination of those who created this sacred sanctuary high above the world below.

Skiathos

The journey then takes you across the sparkling Aegean to the lush Sporades Islands, where pine forests tumble down to secluded beaches and turquoise waters.

Skiathos welcomes visitors with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, picturesque harbour and lively waterfront lined with cafés, boutiques and traditional tavernas.

Despite its popularity, the island has retained its authentic Greek charm, with hidden monasteries, scenic walking trails and more than sixty beautiful beaches waiting to be explored.

Whether you’re swimming in crystal-clear water, enjoying fresh seafood beside the harbour or watching the sunset from a waterfront café, Skiathos perfectly captures the laid-back rhythm of island life.

Skopelos

Just a short ferry ride away lies enchanting Skopelos, often described as one of Greece’s most beautiful islands.

With its lush green hills, traditional whitewashed villages and quiet pebble coves, Skopelos feels wonderfully untouched.

International fame arrived when it became the principal filming location for Mamma Mia!, yet the island has never lost its authentic character.

Visit the iconic clifftop chapel of Agios Ioannis, perched dramatically above the sea, stroll through the flower-filled laneways of Skopelos Town, browse family-run artisan shops and enjoy long lunches overlooking peaceful fishing harbours.

Fans of the movie will delight in recognising famous filming locations, while everyone will fall in love with the island’s warm hospitality and breathtaking scenery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the trip?

All inclusions and exclusions are detailed above, and further details are also available via the enquiry button. Transfers, accommodations, and breakfasts are included, as well as some lunches and dinners, as specified.

What is not included?

Meals as specified, spending money, insurance, international airfares, and tips. Optional activities.

Note: The Acropolis in Athens is not included! You can, however, add it before or after this tour ends and we can help you organise that, as well as any transfers or other add-ons you may like.

How many people will be in the group?

The tour is limited to just 10 women

Will I have my own room?

The tour is priced on a twin share basis, but you can pay the single supplement for your own room if you’d prefer not to share. We cannot guarantee balconies or views each time, but we will do our best to be as fair as possible.

Can I bring my child or partner?

This is a women-only tour, and children under 16 cannot be accommodated.

What if I have to cancel?

Payments are non-refundable if the trip proceeds as planned. This is why we require all guests to purchase travel insurance that covers unforeseen circumstances that would prevent them from travelling. We recommend checking with a site such as Travel Insurance Master to compare quotes and coverage.

Why is travel insurance mandatory?

Travel insurance is crucial when visiting a foreign country, as your health insurance may not be applicable locally. It is not uncommon for people to trip and fall on stairs and uneven surfaces, or to have accidents while engaging in adventure sports or riding ATVs. Healthcare in Greece is generally very good, but procedures such as surgery and repatriation can be costly. Furthermore, insurance will cover you for lost bags, delays, theft, and other related incidents.

What should I pack?

June is a wonderful time of year for sightseeing with mild, sunny days and cooler nights. Temperatures should range between 84°F (29 °C) maximum and 70°F (20 °C) minimum.

You will need comfortable, casual summer clothes, including swimwear, and appropriate footwear is essential (i.e., no heels!) A hat and sunscreen are a good idea, and they are readily available for sale too.

We will share a recommended packing list before the trip.

Are vegans and vegetarians catered for in this trip?

Vegetarian options are available at every meal, and there will be many vegan options. However, it is not possible for us to completely adapt the tour to suit veganism. For other dietary needs, please contact us before booking so we can ensure that your requirements can be accommodated.

Do I need a visa for this trip?

This retreat takes place in Greece. Many countries are eligible for an automatic 90-day Visa for the Schengen Zone – you can check here for more information.

What is the fitness level for this trip?

There will be a fair bit of walking some days but usually at a leisurely pace and will plenty of stops, if required. Some places are very hilly, and most monasteries at Meteora have a lot of steps. You will have the option to explore the more ambitious places independently if you like.
